CS-371P Week 7

What did you do this past week?

This past week I worked on the voting assignment for this class. I started pretty late, but I found that the assignment wasn’t that hard to do. I felt like I was able to get it done in a decent amount of time. I also had two tests this week one for algorithms and one for my management class. They both went okay so I guess that’s good. It was a really busy week but I guess that's okay.

What’s in your way?

This week I just had a lot of things due. Because of the winter storm, all my classes got things pushed to this week so that was rough and I just had a lot of things to do so I didn’t have much time off. I got through the week though!

What will you do next week?

This next week I will be working on my management class a lot. I’m not sure when the next assignment will be but I hope that it’s not this week. I have a test Wednesday that shouldn’t be too bad because it is open notes, but I am really just looking forward to spring break.

If you read it, what did you think of the Open-Closed Principle?

I liked reading it. It reminded me a lot of the things that we learned about in CS314. I enjoyed reading it although I wasn’t able to read to much of it because I was in a rush to complete everything by the deadline.

What was your experience of arrays, iterators, and algorithms? (this question will vary, week to week)

I enjoyed learning about things about iterators that I didn’t know about. I haven’t learned much about them in the past. I didn’t even realize that there was more than one type of iterator so I enjoyed learning about them in class this week. I also enjoyed learning about the arrays class rather than normal arrays.

What made you happy this week?

This week I got to go to a drive-in movie with my boyfriend. We were supposed to go on Valentine’s day but everything got canceled since it was snowing. We saw wonder woman and I actually really liked the movie. I saw it once in the theaters before COVID but I fell asleep because I am terrible at staying awake during movies.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is when you are debugging to break your problem into smaller chunks and check each step because although you may think you know what is causing the problem, it could really be something else that you didn’t even think of.
