What did you do this past week?

This past week I worked on my other classes mostly since I finished the assignment last weekend. I also attended my lectures.

What’s in your way?

There wasn’t much in my way this week. I didn’t have many assignments due so I just worked on the ones that I needed to do and tried to stay on top of my other classes.

What will you do next week?

Since classes were canceled for the beginning of the week, I plan on rewatching some lectures that I had a hard time understanding so that I can be sure that I am on the right track when starting to learn new material later this week. I will also continue to stay on top of my assignments.

If you read it, what did you think of the Pair Programming?

I thought the pair programming page was very interesting. I feel like it had some good tips and pointers. I am going to read over it again because I have not yet worked on the assignment, I have just skimmed it so far.

What was your experience of operators, pointers, and references? (this question will vary, week to week)

I enjoyed learning about c++ operators and operator overloading. I also really appreciated how in-depth Professor Downing went about using returns when it comes to exceptions. I felt that that gave me a better understanding of why each different option was or was not the best option. I also enjoyed learning about the l-values and r-values. I thought it was really interesting to learn about functions that do things and functions that just return things, and the different ways you can use and arrange those functions.

What made you happy this week?

My 21st birthday was yesterday, Saturday 13th so that was nice. I got to see my parents and we had dinner and I also got to eat cake. I also hung out and played some board games with my roommates so we had a nice time. I also like the cold so I am excited to see if it's going to snow in the next few days.

What’s your pick-of-the-week or tip-of-the-week?

My tip of the week is to find time for yourself during the semester. Especially being online I find that it's very easy to feel like you always need to be studying or working on school or work, but it's important to stop and take a break for yourself.
